Traver Rains: Feel the Love: Celebrities Rock T-Shirts to Help Prevent LGBTQ Teen Suicide (PHOTOS)

I was inspired to start the "Feel the Love" campaign in direct response to the continued wave of bullying and suicides happening in this country involving LGBTQ youth. I was especially touched by the story of 14-year-old Jamey Rodemeyer, who took his life this year after being relentlessly bullied by his peers because of his sexuality. As a designer, I wanted to do my part to help raise awareness, support, and money for LGBTQ teen suicide prevention, as well as promote tolerance, acceptance, and love amongst gay youth and the people who love them.

The graphic and slogan for the shirt were inspired by the notion that no matter how bad things get, we all have the ability overcome adversity. It symbolizes our ability to mend the emotional wounds inflicted on us as well as the resilience of the human spirit. It represents hope, strength, and, most of all, love.

Proceeds for from t-shirt sales are donated to the Trevor Project, the nation's leading organization for suicide prevention services to LGBTQ youth.

Join the growing list of supporters, which already includes Margaret Cho, Alan Cumming, Scissor Sisters, Taylor Dayne, Raja, Kaya Jones, Mike Manning, and CariDee English.
